Confidentiality and Privacy:
As a volunteer, you will have access to sensitive information about shelter residents. Please acknowledge and agree to the following:
- I understand that all information about shelter residents, including personal details and stories, is strictly confidential.
- I agree not to disclose any resident’s information to anyone outside the shelter, including friends, family, or on social media.
- I will not take photographs of shelter residents or the shelter premises without explicit permission from the shelter management.
- I will not make decisions on behalf of shelter residents. All decisions regarding their well-being will be made by the shelter staff.
Emergency Procedures:
In the event of an emergency or crisis situation involving a resident, I will:
- Immediately report the situation to the shelter staff.
- Refrain from taking independent action or making decisions without consulting the shelter staff.
- Follow established protocols and procedures for handling emergencies.
Training and Confidentiality Agreement:
I understand that I may be required to undergo training on confidentiality, trauma-informed care, and other relevant topics. I agree to participate in such training and adhere to the principles and guidelines provided.
Background Check Consent:
As a volunteer at our domestic violence women’s shelter, you are required to undergo a background check. Please acknowledge and agree to the following:
- I authorize the shelter to conduct a background check, which may include criminal history and other relevant screenings.
- I understand that the results of the background check will be kept confidential and will only be used for the purpose of evaluating my eligibility to volunteer.
- I agree to provide any additional information or documentation required for the background check process.
